This course is designed to familarize land-based firefighters and Maritime personnel on procedures necessary to handle a marine incident within a port or waterway. This course meets NFPA 1005 standards, is ProBoard certified.

PREREQUISITES

All students should have completed IS 100 and IS 200. The courses can be completed online at the FEMA Training Site.

Out of State attendees who seek the Pro-board Certification must present a copy of their Firefighter II and Hazmat Operations Certificates at registration.  Those attendees who do not qualify for the pro-board certification or wish not to receive pro-board certification will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Students should be in good physical condition. The course will require participating in live burn evolutions, on-site tours of large ocean-going vessels, climbing of steep ladders and gangways, working in enclosed spaces and participating in a live exercise while unterway on a vessel upon open waters.

Attendees are required to furnish their own full turnout gear, SCBA and a Type III PFD.
