PMT and RMT Terminal Operating System Update
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and offer greater accessibility to your cargo, we are pleased to announce an upgrade to a newer version of the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS) at Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT) and Richmond Marine Terminal (RMT). The upgrade will be implemented during the weekend of July 22-23, 2017.
As part of The Port of Virginia’s N4 upgrade, there are several considerations you should be prepared for:
1. PMT and RMT, which currently reside on the same systems as NIT, will be moved to an independent platform. Why?
a. A $350 million investment at NIT will result in a historic renovation and redesign of the existing facility. Deploying a higher level of technology, over the next three years, will require frequent software upgrades.
b. PMT and RMT will not experience this degree of short-term change.
The NIT N4 upgrade was completed successfully on July 15, and is fully functional.
To allow for the upgrade, PMT and RMT N4 systems will be unavailable beginning at 8 p.m. on July 22.
PMT and RMT will be back online at 1:00 p.m. on July 23, following the N4 upgrade.
During that 17 hour period (July 22-23), our IT and Ops Teams will be implementing and testing the new version of the TOS.
To access the PMT and RMT N4 application, you will use the same URL you use today. When clicking the URL, you will arrive at the page pictured below. Simply click the site you wish to go to.
If you are using http://track.portofvirginia.com to track container status, you will also have to specify the location of your search. You will need to choose NIT or PMT/RMT, as they will be on separate systems. VIG, PPCY and Virginia Inland Port tracking remains unchanged at http://track.portofvirginia.com/vig, and http://www.vit.org/WebReports/ACT_Console.aspx.
Please continue to use these links for VIG and PPCY\VIP container tracking.
Thank you for your business.
