Success Stories

In 2013, we sent two Dutch Navy Fire Brigade officers to participate in the Marine Firefighting training week organized by the Port of Virginia’s MIRT team. At the end of that week, officers had learned new procedures, new tactics and a completely new vision on maritime firefighting.

In 2014, another group of five officers trained with MIRT, and now the Royal Navy Fire brigade has founded a Netherlands MFF task force. Therefore I can recommend this course to every fire brigade that has to deal with MFF! Train as you fight, fight as you train!”

As Captain of the Port, I heavily rely upon the Maritime Incident Response Team. Their ability to coordinate the myriad of local partners in this vibrant port is vital to our shared goal of a safe, secure, and efficient maritime transportation system.”
