Motor carriers hauling containers of exports and imports are critical to the success of The Port of Virginia. In fiscal year 2019 (July 1 – June 30), the port processed more than a million truck moves, and with the big-ship era underway, that volume looks to grow exponentially in the years to come.
That’s why we’re so committed to creating predictability and efficiency at our gates. PRO-PASS®, our new reservation system, is getting drivers in-and-out of our terminals quicker than ever before, all while providing cargo owners better visibility and helping us to manage flow at our gates.
We’ve also worked hard to develop a number of other motor carrier resources, and have designed one of our custom dashboards with you in mind.
With our location just a two days drive from 75% of the US population, and with easy access to interstates 64 and 564 as well as US Route 17 and US Route 58, Virginia is truly a trucker-friendly port.
