The International Longshoremen’s Association (“ILA”) represents many individuals who work at The Port of Virginia as longshoremen.  The Port of Virginia does not, however, advertise for or process these individuals to work as longshoremen.  For information regarding these positions, you must contact the Hampton Roads Shipping Association (HRSA) job hotline at 757-628-2676.

Do I need a TWIC to apply?

No, individuals are not required to have a TWIC card or complete the TWIC application process during our application steps.

Does The Port of Virginia participate in VRS?

The Port of Virginia does not participate in VRS; however, we do provide a comprehensive deferred compensation retirement plan.

Do you offer part-time positions?

Currently, we do not have part-time positions available.
