Rich leads approximately $1 billion in infrastructure, engineering, and technology initiatives. His work is focused on delivering on-time and on-budget long-term projects while maintaining hardware and software systems that keep operations reliable and secure. Since joining the port in 2016, Rich has overseen major modernization efforts designed to expand capacity, efficiency, and resilience throughout the gateway.
Prior to his time at the port, Rich spent more than 30 years implementing industrial systems globally for leading automotive manufacturers and has delivered nearly $4 billion in high-technology container terminal projects since 2004.
Rich is an avid supporter of University of Michigan athletics programs.
