Amanda Nelson leads strategic planning, growth initiatives, and communications efforts that support both current operations and the long-term expansion of The Port of Virginia. Since joining the port in 2021, she has worked closely with customers, external partners, and regional stakeholders to align infrastructure investments, business strategy, and market opportunities with the future needs of global trade.
Prior to joining The Port of Virginia, Amanda held leadership roles in intermodal rail strategy and pricing at Norfolk Southern and worked analyzing mergers and acquisitions at Huntington Ingalls Industries. Her experience across transportation, finance, and supply chain strategy helps position Virginia for continued growth as America’s Most Modern Gateway.
